POLICE: Norwood Councilman ‘beaten severely’ by stepson

Norwood Police Department has arrested a man for the attempted murder of his stepfather, who is a Norwood councilman, on Dec. 26, 2024.
Police Chief James Wilson said his department is still investigating the attack on James Lilly.
“He was beaten severely,” Wilson said of Lilly, who he said was recovering at home.
Germain Kevon Snuggs, of 160 Pine St., faces felony charges of attempted first degree murder, assault by strangulation, assault with serious bodily injury, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and breaking and entering terrorize/injure.
He also faces misdemeanor charges of communicating threats, second degree trespass and injury to real property.
Snuggs has a court date of Jan. 21.
Wilson said the department does not yet have a motive for the attack.
