The Constitution of the United States comprises three branches of the government. The Executive branch which recommends and approves legislation, the Legislative branch which develops legislation based on the needs of the country, and the Judicial branch which enforces approved legislation.
These three branches comprise a check and balance system of governance that is known as a democracy.
Currently, the government appears to be in disarray and no one is doing anything about it. What I see today is one person mandating policy without debate or concurrence of the other two branches of government.
I consider myself a conservative independent voter and, while I agree with some of the policies being enacted, am appalled that our elected representatives are not standing up to this abuse of power.
When individuals with questionable security clearances are dismantling congressionally approved departments and taking control of the Office of Personnel Management, The US Treasury, and the General Services Administration, it opens the country to disaster.
Where are our elected officials and why aren’t they standing up and enforcing the Constitution?
