An Albemarle Police officer responding to a call for a vehicle pursuit initiated by Stanly County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a single vehicle crash in the area of Ridge Street and Colonial Drive around 6:16 p.m. Monday.

The officer was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and later released, according to Albemarle Police.

The crash is under investigation as part of Albemarle Police protocol.
