The Albemarle Rotary Club and The Rosebriar Restaurant will host a “Meal to Remember” 5-8 p.m. May 2.
With the assistance of Melissa Eudy and the staff at The Rosebriar, the Albemarle Rotary Club will be raising funds to support research to find treatments and a cure for Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia diseases.
The Meal to Remember will be at The Rosebriar Restaurant at 528 Wiscasset St., Albemarle. At least 10% of the proceeds from the Meal to Remember will be presented to The CART Fund.
The CART Fund was founded in 1995 by Rotary members in Sumter, South Carolina and has now funded more than $10 million in research to seek both a cure and treatments for Alzheimer’s and related dementia diseases. In 2024, The CART Fund authorized $1.4 million in research grants.
Since it is operated by Rotary members, all the funds donated are used for research. CART stands for Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust with the original idea of Rotary members collecting change from their pockets at each regular Rotary meeting.
The Albemarle Rotary Club still collects change at each meeting but we have branched out into new opportunities for supporting this important research to help stop this terrible disease. Albemarle Rotary President nominee Louisa Jane Hartsell says, “We hope all of the Albemarle and Stanly County community can come to the Rosebriar and help with the next grants for Alzheimer’s research.”
