Ansonia’s ‘Winnie the Pooh’ has Stanly County connections

An upcoming production of “Winnie the Pooh” in Anson County has two connections to Stanly County.
“Winnie the Pooh” will be performed May 2-11 at the Ansonia Theatre in downtown Wadesboro. Follow Pooh and his friends on adventures that include hi-jinks, hilarity, honey and the meaning of true friendship.

Lacey Whittaker makes her Ansonia directorial debut with “Winnie the Pooh.”
This show is an Ansonia debut for director and Stanly County native Lacey Whittaker.
She began her career under the direction of the late Jim Kennedy with the West Stanly Players.
Kennedy inspired a love of theatre that has traveled with her from Stanly County and back again.
The cast includes Stanly County native and New London resident Tyler Poplin as Winnie the Pooh, Escher Tallman as Christopher Robin, Eden Tallman as Piglet, Adam Chandler as Owl, Ava Sleeper as Rabbit, Glenn Caulder as Eeyore, Brittany Price as Kanga, Willow Chandler as Roo, and Allie Smith, Ashley Gathings, Braylen Crawford and Georgia Tolley as other inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood.
“Winnie the Pooh” will run at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. Sundays at the Ansonia Theatre, 112 S. Rutherford St., Wadesboro.
