A grant for the proposed new 911 center is among the items on the agenda of this Monday’s meeting of the Stanly County Board of Commissioners.

Commissioners will be asked to adopt a budget amendment for $2,414,425 from the North Carolina 911 board toward construction of the new 911 and Emergency Operations Service building, which the agenda packet notes was 85% of the county’s request.

The funds will go into the Emergency Telephone Fund System, while the commissioners will be asked for an additional $30,000 from the county’s general fund for professional services not covered in the grant request.

Commissioners will also be asked to execute a contract with Mission Critical Partners for technology management and facilities migration.

The board will also decide on a date for a budget retreat to work on ideas for the 2025-26 fiscal year budget, along with approving dates for the staff to work on next year’s budget throughout the first half of this year.

Commissioners will also consider updating an internet policy to reflect new general statutes passed by the state legislature in the 2024 session. The new provisions concern the viewing or saving of pornography on county owned or leased devices by county officials and employees.
