Stanly home football games moved up because of weather forecast

Friday night’s home football games for the varsity teams of Stanly County have been moved up because of storm forecasts.

North Stanly’s home game with West Stanly will now be Thursday at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 5:15. The JV game between the Comets and Colts has been rescheduled for Sept. 23 at West Stanly.

South Stanly’s home game with South Davidson has also been moved to Thursday. Kickoff for the game between the Rebel Bulls and Wildcats will be at 7:30 p.m.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Albemarle’s road game at Anson County has not been rescheduled.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s forecast is calling for a 40% chance of showers with the high near 76 degrees.
