South Stanly wins county men’s golf match

The 2023 Stanly County Schools men’s golf match saw three teams compete at Piney Point Golf Club on May 2.

South Stanly took first place at the match with the low score of 304, followed by West Stanly (329) and North Stanly (345).

Reid Smith of South Stanly earned medalist honors in the 18-hole match with an even-round par of 72. K.J. Cooper of North finished second with a +2 round of 74, followed on the All-Stanly team by West’s Damien Moser (+3, 75) and South’s Dustin Hurley and Luke Dennis, both with +4 rounds of 76. West’s Ryan Collins rounded out the All-County team, placing sixth with a +7 round of 79.
