Because of a development involving one of the staff members of the town of Richfield, Wednesday’s scheduled meeting of the Board of Adjustments will not conduct a hearing involving the appeal of Richfield United Methodist Church for a kitchen renovation permit.

Carolyn Capps, the town administrator, was involved in a car accident just before Monday’s meeting of the Richfield Town Council.

Richfield Mayor Terry Deese said Wednesday it was his understanding the hearing was postponed because of Capps’ accident.

“The board may assemble to hold an organizational meeting only,” Deese said, adding the board would only determine the placement of duties Wednesday night.

The future date for the hearing, the mayor added, depends on how fast the town administrator recovers from her injuries.
