U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson and his staff are safe, according to information from the representative’s office.

“Thanks to everyone who has reached out,” Hudson said in an emailed message. “My staff and I are safe. I condemn all violence of any kind and I’m saddened to see what has taken place in the U.S. Capitol today.

“Thank you to the brave men and women of the Capitol Police who risk their lives to serve and protect the public,” he added. “Renee and I are praying for our country and for the safety of the Capitol Police and everyone in the Capitol complex today.”
