Free school supplies giveaway in Norwood set for Saturday

Students needing school supplies for the upcoming academic year will be able to get free supplies tomorrow afternoon in Norwood.
Community Who Cares in Norwood will sponsor a drive-through school supplies event for students from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Norwood’s Darrell Almond Community Park.
Families do not have to bring anything to the event but their kids to receive the supplies, according to Grover Shankle of Community Who Cares.
Charles Curcio has served as the sports editor of the Stanly News & Press since 2008 and has written numerous news and feature stories as well. He was awarded the NCHSAA Tim Stevens Media Representative of the Year and named CNHI Sports Editor of the Year in 2014. He has also won awards from Boone Newspapers, and has won four North Carolina Press Association awards.
