A local motorcycle organization looks to join other community groups in raising money for Albemarle firefighters injured in the recent Fiberon fire.

The Red Knights N.C. 24 will host a benefit motorcycle and vehicle ride Aug. 1 starting at 11 a.m. in Badin in the parking lot next to the town’s volunteer fire department building.

Kickstands go up at 1 p.m. for the ride which will loop around to Montgomery County by the Eldorado Outpost off N.C. Highway 139 back to Tillery and eventually end back in Badin.

The cost will be $20 per bike and $10 per rider along with $20 for each vehicle and $10 for one or more passengers. A T-shirt is included in the $20 fee and additional shirts will be $20 each.

Two Albemarle firefighters were injured fighting the fire at Fiberon and all proceeds from the event will go to them.

Highway 55 Burgers will donate 10 percent of all sales that day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the firefighters as well.

Pre-registration must be completed by July 25 and can be paid via PayPal at the following link:
