Hahn speaks to meeting of Alpha Delta Kappa

Xi chapter of North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa met recently at the Stanly County Public Library for its monthly meeting.

President Barbara Klein welcomed members. Barbara Carpenter had the “Thought of the Day,” which was titled “Love as Jesus Loves.”

Klein introduced guest speaker Sara Hahn, director for Stanly County Public Library. Hahn gave an update on all the changes that are happening at the library.

Under her direction, there have been new programs and services, which include NC Cardinal. Through this program, library cardholders can use their library card in all NC libraries to check out books and to read online. The library has a new logo, too.

The meeting room downstairs has been updated with new paint, new tables and chairs and new audio visual equipment. Private rooms for members to use have also been built.

There is a monthly calendar on their website and at the front desk listing all the amazing opportunities SCPL offers. There is a book club that meets monthly and exercise classes.

The altruistic project for March was with the Ronald McDonald House.

Members were asked to continue to bring prizes for residents at Trinity Place.
