The Stanly County Rehabilitation Workshop on Wiscassett Street had become the first in the state to expand its services to other counties.

A bus had been secured to transport students to the workshop from Montgomery County so they could take vocational training.

Children

The women of Christ Episcopal Church had launched a campaign to collect toys and clothing for South Vietnamese children.

Scout

Sidney Hagans, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Hagans of Albemarle, had received his Eagle Scout award from Ted Mabry, Scoutmaster of Troop 50, sponsored by Wiscassett Mills.
