Tillery Christian Academy hosts golf tournament

Tillery Christian Academy, a private Christian school in Norwood, held its first golf tournament June 5 at Tillery Tradition Country Club.

The event raised funds to enhance campus security measures.

The team capturing first place consisted of Tom Ratledge, Tommy Howard and Ricky Fry.

Second place honors went to Mark Harper, Chip Bryant, Jim Brown, and Weslyn Lineberry, while third place was secured by Larkey Brown, Caleb Huneycutt, Taylor Harris and Jordan Helms.

Todd Davis and Steve King reigned in the putting green contest.

Richard Tucker and Alan Baker won the closest to the pins.

Rick Frye took top honors for the long shot and hole-n-one by acing the par 3 at hole No. 8.

The day was finished with a raffle drawing for a grill, won by Jordan Helms, and a $75 gift certificate, won by Wes Mabry.
