Stanly Community College will host Medical Careers Exploration Night

Stanly Community College will host a Medical Careers Exploration Night for individuals interested in pursuing a degree in the college’s health care-related programs of study.

The event is 6-8 p.m. March 21 at SCC’s Crutchfield Education Center, 102 Stanly Parkway, Locust – site of the Allied Health Signature Campus.

Those in attendance are asked to arrive at 6 p.m. for a general information session outlining SCC’s admissions process, placement testing and financial aid/scholarship information. From there, prospective students and their families will be led on tours of the college’s program labs led by program faculty and current students.

“Individuals may know they would like a career in health care, but unsure about how to get there,” said Christie Huneycutt, associate vice president for SCC’s School of Health Sciences & Public Services. “We encourage anyone considering a medical career to take this opportunity to see all of the programs we offer here at Stanly Community College and the educational pathways to a successful future.”

Representatives from the following programs will be on hand to answer questions and provide information:
• Emergency Medical Science;
• Emergency Medical Technician;
• Fire & Rescue;
• Medical Assisting;
• Medical Billing & Coding;
• Medical Laboratory Technology;
• Multi-Skilled Nurse Aide;
• Nursing;
• Paramedic;
• Radiography; and
• Respiratory Therapy.
