South Stanly men end losing streak with home win

The South Stanly men’s basketball team ended a long winning drought Friday night at home in a win versus Albemarle.

Three scored in double figures for South as the Bulls won over the Bulldogs, 71-66.

Carson Lowder and Malik Kluttz each scored 18 points to lead the Bulls (2-8, 2-5 YVC). Lowder scored 10 in the first half for South while Kluttz hit 11-of-12 from the free throw line hitting 10-of-10 in the final period. Brandon Teller added 14 points for the Bulls.

Camarie McNeil led the Bulldogs (5-5, 3-5 YVC) and all scorers with 25 points while Ali Currie added 12 points and M.J. Raye scored 11. Raye, the team’s leading scorer coming in at 21.1 points per game, was limited to a season low in 11 minutes due to an injury to his Achilles.
