Badin Police, Sheriff’s Office make arrests on Roosevelt Street

Interagency cooperation led to two arrests along with the seizure of opiates, counterfeit bills and a handgun Tuesday in Badin.

Badin Police Department and Stanly County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 818 Roosevelt St., where Dasheem Lawrence Hobbs Sr., 29, and Brandi Allison Simmons, 43, were arrested.

Investigators seized approximately 24.5 grams of Fentanyl, a handgun, two magazines, 9-mm ammunition, drug paraphernalia, $1,546, and $3,900 counterfeit currency, Badin officials said.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to Stanly County Jail. They face charges of trafficking opium or heroin, possession with intent to manufacture sell and deliver heroin, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Simmons received a $200,000 bond.

Hobbs faces additional charges of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, and alter/remove gun serial number. He received a $250,000 bond.
