Pin Ups & Pumps donates $6,000 to Butterfly House

Pin Ups & Pumps generated $6,000 through its 5th Annual Still Run Car, Truck & Bike Show in downtown Albemarle May 13.

The donation was given to the Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center on Wednesday through a check presentation to Emily Harrison.

Harrison is scheduled to compete in Stanly County’s Dancing With The Stars Sept. 9, an event that benefits the Butterfly House.

“Our goal is to empower women through the art of pinup,” said Sara Huneycutt-Smith, a founder of Pin Ups & Pumps.

The car show also included live music by Slim and The Gems of Georgia, a pinup contest and a beer garden.

Huneycutt-Smith said visitors came from Florida, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and California.

More than 300 cars were registered to show before 1,200 spectators.

The event drew media coverage as well from Social Pin Magazine and Street Cars 101 Magazine.
