Oakboro Museum announces fundraiser, reopening

Oakboro Regional Museum of History will return to regular hours in May after being closed since March 2020.

There is still time to see the “Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Friends” exhibit by Jeff Chance. It will close in the middle of May.

This exhibit will be followed in June by the NASCAR collection of Kevin Edwards.

From 5-8 p.m. April 30, a spaghetti fundraiser will be hosted by Wayside Restaurant, 606 N. Main St., Oakboro. Proceeds will be used to fund ongoing projects at the four Oakboro Regional Museum sites.

The menu is spaghetti, salad and bread. You may pick up meals in Wayside’s drive-thru or inside at Wayside’s front counter.

Suggested donation is $8 per plate. Child’s plate with no salad for $4 is available.
Advanced tickets are available for purchase at the Oakboro History Museum, Variety Pickup, Quality Child Care and Wayside Restaurant.

Memberships are vital to the continuing operation and improvement of the Oakboro Museum. The Oakboro Museum is an all volunteer organization.

Museum hours are 2-4 p.m. Sunday and Monday and 10 a.m.-noon Thursday.
