The Alamance Community College Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Ken Ingle as the next college president. The local board’s decision was affirmed by the State Board of Community Colleges.
Ingle is expected to begin his duties as president on Feb. 1.

Dr. Ken Ingle has been named the new president of Alamance Community College.

Ingle brings with him a background in higher education leadership. Most recently, Ingle served as the chief officer of information services at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College where he played a role in spearheading strategic planning, enhancing institutional effectiveness and leveraging information technology to advance educational objectives. Ingle served on the president’s executive cabinet.

“We are excited to welcome Dr. Ken Ingle as the next president of Alamance Community College,” stated BG Blake Williams, chair of the ACC Board of Trustees. “His proven track record in fostering innovation and student-centered approaches aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing exceptional education and opportunities for our students.”

Under Ingle’s leadership, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College received accolades as a top 10 digital community college for four consecutive years.

Ingle has served on the board of the Rowan Chamber of Commerce, where he is chair-elect for 2025; he is an active member of the Cabarrus County Rotary Club; and a member of the Rowan Education Collaborative. He was the recipient of the 2022 cohort of the Aspen Rising Presidents Fellowship and the Belk Center Fellowship for the 2021 Achieving the Dream conference.

Ingle, who graduated from West Stanly High School, earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his master’s degree at Bellevue University. He earned his Doctorate in Community College Leadership from North Carolina State University, where he also served as a North Carolina State University Graduate Ambassador.

“I am humbled and thrilled to embark on the journey as president of Alamance Community College. I have witnessed the transformative impact of community college in my own family and strive each day to help students realize their full potential through education. I look forward to building relationships, collaborating to meet the evolving needs of our area, and shaping a brighter future for our students, faculty, staff, and the entire Alamance County community,” Ingle said.
