County reveals more info for people seeking emergency shelter

Beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Stanly County Emergency Management and Stanly County Health and Human Services will open an emergency shelter at Anderson Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center, 106 Anderson Grove Church Road, Albemarle, for residents impacted by the natural gas outage.

If you have any questions regarding the shelter or need assistance, please call 704-986-3700.

If you are sick, you will be asked to wear a mask and will be physically distanced from others at the shelter.

What to bring:
● Medications
● Personal supplies (toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, soap, etc.)
● Baby supplies (if needed)
● Pillows
● Blankets or sleeping bags
● Phones & chargers
● Books, games, cards

Do not bring:
● Alcohol
● Illicit drugs
● Weapons

An on-site pet shelter will be available for dogs and cats. No aggressive animals will be accepted. Please bring necessary food, water and bedding for your animal.
