Benefit planned for House family

More people are coming forward to help with funeral expenses for a man who died in an accident last week.
A benefit for the family of Tanner Wayne House is planned for 5 p.m. Thursday at Lulu’s Restaurant in Richfield. A plate of barbecued chicken, baked beans, potato salad, slaw and dessert will be available for a $10 donation. Donations are also being accepted to pay for the cost of the benefit. All proceeds will go to the family.
House, 24, of Albemarle died around 9:45 p.m. June 20 after his vehicle hit a retaining wall and overturned in the downtown area of Pee Dee Avenue and North Fifth Street, according to Albemarle Police.
Police determined that the 2003 Ford F-350 House was driving was traveling northeast on Pee Dee Avenue when he lost control and ran off the road, then hitting a retaining wall and overturning. A passenger in the vehicle was treated and released on scene.
Family and friends of House also created two GoFundMe pages to help his family with funeral expenses. Around $5,000 had been raised as of Monday morning through these pages.
