Local family opens Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in Locust
Orlando-based Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is now scooping up its frozen treats in Locust with the announcement of the brand’s newest location opening in the area.
The new Jeremiah’s Italian Ice location, which opens Tuesday, is at 146 James Ave. across from the Walmart Supercenter.
The new Jeremiah’s is owned by the Spears family, who hopes to partner with local schools, churches and community organizations to cater events and raise money for local causes.
This is the first Jeremiah’s location in the country that has been built from the ground up and will serve as one of the brand’s prototypes for future expansion across the country.
The new Jeremiah’s Italian Ice offers guests indoor and outdoor seating, a drive-thru and third-party delivery services. The heated outdoor patio will have two overhead garage doors that open to indoor seating and can be used for birthday parties, meetings or conferences.
Owner Vann Spears has installed fences in the Charlotte area for the last 25 years. His wife, Lori, retired from school administration. Their two daughters will also be helping guests make tasty memories in this new business venture.
“Locust is a small close-knit community that is growing,” said owner Vann Spears. “We can’t wait to bring Jeremiah’s to the area. My family and I were so impressed with the culture and product that we wanted to share it with everyone.”
Each store offers more than 40 flavors of Italian ice, as well as soft ice cream. A synthesis of these two core products, the Jeremiah’s Gelati is the showcase of the menu with layers of Italian ice with thick, homemade soft ice cream.
