Oakboro’s board to have special meeting to discuss police chief, SRO positions
The Town of Oakboro will have a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Oakboro Town Hall, 109 N. Main St.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss advertisement for the vacant police chief position, the process and a timeline for hiring.
The board will also discuss the position of the school resource officer at Oakboro Choice STEM School.
Assistant Police Chief Jason Eschert was named interim police chief by the board following the resignation of T.J. Smith after nearly eight years as chief.
