West Stanly’s girls soccer team wins first playoff game in program history

West Stanly’s girls soccer team won its first playoff game in school history with a 2-1 victory over West Stokes Monday.

Freshmen Stella Wayne and Kennedy Foxx each scored goals for the Colts. Senior goaltender Emma Rhodes made five saves.

The Colts (18.4-1) will now head to No. 8 Forest Hills (15-4-1) to play at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Forest Hills defeated Surry Central 2-1 Monday.

The Colts lost 3-2 at home to Forest Hills on April 18 and 9-0 at the Yellow Jackets on May 4.
