Bob Harris, who was the “Voice of the Duke Blue Devils” for 40 years on radio for football and basketball, celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with his wife, Phyllis, June 3 in Durham at Ricky’s NY Pizza.

Bob and Phyllis, who were both raised in the Millingport area, celebrated the day with friends and family, including Duke Football Hall of Fame inductee and former radio co-worker of Bob’s Wes Chesson.

Attendees came from Florida, Georgia, Virginia and Illinois.

“We are very proud to have been raised in Albemarle and in the Millingport area. We still love hearing about the progress and all the events in Stanly County,” Phyllis said.
