SCC honors Hinson Auction for more than a decade of support

Stanly Community College’s Carolina Auction Academy recently honored Hinson Auction for its support and involvement with the school’s program.

For more than 10 years, the Oakboro business has provided support staff and the use of their facility for student auctions and occasional classes.

“Ted Hinson loved the auction profession and his life and legacy included being a great supporter of Carolina Auction Academy,” said SCC Instructor Betty O’Neal. “We’re so thankful his love of auctioneering continues with his family’s support of our program.”

Since 2005, the Academy has offered a comprehensive course designed to introduce the auction method of marketing and provide the coursework needed to obtain a North Carolina or South Carolina auctioneer license.

The SCC Carolina Auction Academy will hold its next student auction on March 15 at Hinson Auction.

For more information on the program, contact Betty O’Neal at 704-991-0142 or eoneal8048@stanly.edu.
