BADIN NEWS: Students wrap up year

Students are finishing EOG testing this week leading up to the last day on Friday.

Badin Library 

It’s time for summer reading. The official start date is June 1. Check with Branch Manager Treva Allmon for more information.

Adult crafts will once again be offered beginning June 8 at 10 a.m. A small fee will be charged for materials. Everyone is welcome for this activity and time of fellowship.

Town Business 

Limb and brush pickup is June 1. Please have trimmed limbs streetside before 8 a.m.

Town Council meets June 8 at 7 p.m. in the Badin Conference Center.

Homes Tour 

Badin’s French Connection will be on display during the Tour of Homes June 13 from 2-5 p.m. Seven stops on the tour will include homes of all sizes and styles and the historic 1913 Badin Inn.

Better Badin, Inc. is sponsoring the tour to raise funds for 2021 events which benefit the community. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through Eventbrite or at Loafers and Legends. Please help spread the word.

Better Badin 

The next regular meeting is June 14 at Loafers and Legends at 6:30 p.m. The volunteer group is looking for ways to get back in gear as Covid-19 restrictions are being lifted. The calendar will begin to fill up with events such as summer Movies on the Green and concerts in the fall. Watch this column for additional information.

Palestine UMC 

The church continues to gather indoors for Sunday worship at 11 a.m. The service can also be accessed by FM radio in the parking lot or on Facebook Live.
