At its meeting on July 7, the Locust City Council: Introduced three new police officers. All three are June graduates of Stanly Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training Program. Their names are Noah Coley, Robert Godek Jr., and Garrett Ritzheimer. Recapped upcoming park renovations. In the upcoming month, Officer Jeff Shelton Memorial Park will get new bike stands, dog stations and benches. A new retaining wall will be constructed near the ballfields, as well. Reminded citizens of a temporary recycling pick-up change. Anyone who has a Tuesday recycling pick-up should put out their recycling on July 31. Next month the schedule will return to normal.
