Pfeiffer Tennis concludes fall season

The Pfeiffer University men’s tennis team completed its fall season by taking part in the Randolph Fall Invitational on Oct. 27 in Lynchburg, Virginia.
In singles play, the Falcons took six of the 11 contested singles matches.
Mathius Dessureau won both of his matches, downing Shenandoah’s Dominick Suwak by a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 score.
He also defeated fellow USA South competitor Harry Crokam of Methodist by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
In doubles play, Pfeiffer won six of the eight matches. The team of Andres Valdez-Arze and Laurin Rauer won both of its matches, winning 6-2 over their opponents from Shenandoah and 6-4 over their Methodist University counterparts.
Additionally, Dylan Masters and Goncalo Oliveira won both of their matches by 6-4 and 6-1 scores.
With the fall season complete, Pfeiffer will turn its focus to training for the upcoming traditional spring season.
The Falcons will open play on Feb. 9 with a scrimmage match against Division I Davidson College followed by a home match against Virginia Wesleyan on Feb. 16.
