The visiting Pfeiffer volleyball team fell to the Greensboro Pride 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 14-25) on Wednesday evening at Hanes Gymnasium.
The loss dropped Pfeiffer’s record to 3-14 overall and 0-8 in USA South play.
Abby Lewis finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Falcons offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .368. Defensively, Pfeiffer had two players reach double figures in digs as Gabby Edwards had 16 and Gabi Gama had 13.

Abby Talley had a team-high two aces in the loss.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Falcons found themselves in an early hole, dropping the first set 25-20. Greensboro grabbed the advantage for good at 18-17 in a set that was tied up eight times before the Pride took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 2 | Pfeiffer fell in the second set 25-16, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as nine points as Greensboro grabbed the advantage for good at 15-14 in a set that was tied up 10 times before the Pride took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Greensboro finished the sweep with a third-set win. The Falcons dropped a tough set 25-14. Pfeiffer trailed by as many as 12 points as Greensboro grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was knotted up three times before the Pride took over the lead.

The Falcons will hit the road for their next USA South match on Oct. 12 when they travel to Staunton, Va. for a match at Mary Baldwin. Start time is scheduled for noon.
