Albemarle Police search for suspect vehicle following shooting

At around 2:12 a.m. Saturday, officers with the Albemarle Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of NC Highway 24-27 Bypass East.

Upon arrival officers found two females with injuries. One of the females was transported to the hospital, where she was treated and released. The second female was transported the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

An investigation determined the shooting was related to a domestic situation and this was not a random act, police said.

Detectives are searching for a suspect vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, 4-door, silver
in color with temporary NC registration plate VZ-41891. The vehicle has a large dent in
the passenger door.
