UPDATE: Oakboro juvenile remains missing

Stanly County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the community’s assistance in locating 16-year-old runaway juvenile Sampson Smith.
Smith was last seen around 4:30 a.m. May 31 at his residence in Oakboro. The juvenile is 5-foot-4 and has dark hair.
Smith has ties to Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Lake Norman, Greensboro and Surry County. County agencies involved include Stanly, Yadkin, Wilkes, Burke, Stokes, Forsythe, Mecklenburg, Alamance, and Cabarrus.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the juvenile is asked to call 911 or Stanly County Communications at 704-986-3700. Tips can also be submitted through the Stanly County Sheriff’s Office Mobile Application which can be downloaded here:
