Albemarle Police responded around 8:30 a.m. Thursday to a single vehicle crash.

The driver of a small SUV left the roadway on North Second Street in the area of Hamilton Street and came to rest in Little Long Creek, a police spokesperson said.

The driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
