Albemarle homicide suspect turns self in

Byron Anthony Beckford Jr., a suspect in a domestic related homicide in Albemarle, is now in custody, according to Albemarle Police.
Beckford turned himself into the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Beckford was booked into the Stanly County Jail.
At approximately 11:58 a.m. Thursday Albemarle Police were called to a home in the 100 block of Carpenter Avenue for a report of gunshots fired. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased female, later identified as McKayla Davis, 20.
Preliminary investigation revealed the deceased had been involved in a domestic incident shortly before a witness reported hearing gunshots.
