The 2nd Annual Dakota Snavely Memorial Scholarship Ride will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Hwy. 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries in Albemarle.

Proceeds from the ride will go the scholarship fund at Stanly Community College.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., with kick stands up at 11 a.m. The one-hour ride will be escorted to and from Hwy 55 in Albemarle. Cost is $25 per driver and $10 per passenger. Contact info is available on the event’s Facebook page.

Snavely was an East Side firefighter killed while responding to a service call June 10, 2018. He was 17.
