Gov. Roy Cooper announced Friday 34 new appointments to state boards and commissions including Stanly Community College.

Daisy Washington, of Badin, was among those appointed. She’ll serve as an at-large member on SCC’s Board of Trustees.

Washington previously worked as a counselor with underprivileged children at SCC. She also served on the local Habitat for Humanity Board and the West Badin Alumni Association.
