The Uwharrie Wampus Cats baseball team have released single-game tickets for their inaugural season.

Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the “Tickets” link on the team’s website, wampuscatsbaseball.com. All home games are at Albemarle’s Don Montgomery Park. Aside from a few reserved boxed seats, most areas are open seating, including a new picnic table area past the first base dugout.

The Wampus Cats’ home opener vs. the Carolina Disco Turkeys is Memorial Day, May 29, at 6 p.m. That’s the first of 25 home dates through late July.

“We’re very excited to welcome out our fans out for the opener,” said team president Greg Sullivan. “The facility has come a long way and the city has done a great job helping us get ready. We’re expecting a nice crowd for Memorial Day and encourage fans who would like to come to go ahead and buy tickets in advance to help us get fans in the gate easily on game day.”

The team will also be at home on Father’s Day and Independence Day this season. The Wampus Cats feature roughly 35 college players, many whom played high school ball in the area or play for local colleges. Players come from all levels of college baseball, from Division 1 to junior college prospects.
