Dakota Ross Snavely

Dakota Ross Snavely, of Albemarle, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018.
Dakota was born June 17, 2000 to Jimmy Ross Snavely and the late Laura Lynn Richardson. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by his grandfather, Raeford Richardson; grandfather JR Smith, Jr.
Dakota was an avid baseball player from the age of four. He enjoyed all outdoor activities such as, hunting, fishing, and grilling out every evening with his father and step-mom. Dakota was a volunteer fireman at East Side Fire Department and spent a lot of hours training and helping his community in any way possible. He had a very giving spirit and would easily lay down his life for a friend.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 9:00 pm, Friday, June 15, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at Anderson Grove Church in Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Adam Hatley. Burial will follow at the Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.
Survivors include: father, Jimmy Ross Snavely and fiance Elizabeth Abbott of Albemarle; girlfriend, Claudia Boger of Oakboro; aunts, Norita Fields and husband Terry of Albemarle, Darla Dulin and Daniel Fish of Norwood, Melanie Little and husband David of Albemarle; uncles, Deke Abbott, III. and wife Susan of Alaska, Kim Jay Sites and wife Vickie of Concord, Vickie and husband Randy Polk of Monroe, Rusty Richardson of Monroe, Tommy Richardson of Monroe; grandparents, Shirley Smith of Albemarle, Deloris Richardson of Monroe, Deke and Jean Abbott of Troy; and several cousins.
