Graduation

Some 654 high school seniors were scheduled to receive diplomas in exercises this week in Albemarle and Stanly County Schools, including Albemarle, West Stanly, North Stanly, South Stanly, Kingville and West Badin.

Education

Charles Elliott Gaddy, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Winfred Gaddy, an instructor in English at Fork Union Military Academy, had received an appointment under the National Defense Education Act to attend the University of Virginia summer institute in the teaching of English.
