YMCA plans summer enrichment programs with United Way, churches

The Stanly County YMCA is working in partnership with the towns of Norwood and Oakboro, as well as, United Way of Stanly County to reduce the cost of Summer Enrichment Programs in their areas of the county. The programs will be held for seven weeks this summer from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at First Baptist Oakboro and Norwood First Presbyterian Church.
Participants will have learn about Hometown Heroes and the importance of being involved in the community. Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. On Fridays both groups will swim and have fun together. Literacy and math will be part of the daily
activities so that students do not fall behind.
The weekly cost for camp is $45. Scholarships are also available, if needed.
Open House at Norwood First Presbyterian Church will be 6 p.m. June 1 and 6 p.m. June 3 at First Baptist Church of Oakboro.
