She will be graduating from the four-year program in May with her Associate’s in Science.

In the fall, Duncan plans to transfer to a four-year university and pursue her bachelor’s degree in accounting. However, she is not yet sure where she will be attending.

So far, Duncan has applied to nine colleges and been accepted into East Carolina University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of North Carolina Wilmington, and University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

While she is still waiting on an acceptance letter, Duncan is most interested in attending North Carolina State University and was even nominated as one of the two candidates from SEC for the Park Scholarship.

Duncan is a member of Stanly Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society and participates in many extracurricular activities outside of school.

For the first few months of senior year, she balanced two part-time jobs with her assignments before switching fully to her second job.

Looking back on her years at SEC, Duncan is most thankful for the high expectations placed, as they played a large role in helping her become a well-rounded individual.

She looks forward to future opportunities, as she feels that SEC has greatly prepared her for life and helped her make connections to benefit from in the future.
