A fallen tree damaged electrical lines and caused as many as 523 Duke Energy customers in Badin to be without power in the heat of Friday afternoon.

As temperatures hovered in the low 90s, hundreds of homes in southeastern Badin lost power around 2:30 p.m. with an estimated restoration time set at 6:15 p.m., according to Duke Energy.
