Cameron Bowers, a 2020 graduate of South Stanly High School, was recently awarded the Edith Norwood Scholarship by the Norwood Community Service League.
Cameron is now a student at Surry Community College in Dobson, enrolled in the Criminal Justice program.
He is the son of Marley Cribbs.
Each year, based on the amount of money raised through the League’s fundraisers, the organization awards a scholarship to a South Stanly graduating senior.
The Norwood Community Service League was organized in 1978 with the purpose of improving the southern communities of Stanly County.
