Valerian Growcock of Locust was named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the fall semester ending in December 2019, according to information released last week from the college. This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.8 or higher.

Growcock, the child of Roger A. Growcock and Wendy D. Growcock of Locust, is a 2016 graduate of Piedmont High School. Growcock is a senior majoring in European studies and minoring in Russian.
