West Stanly’s opening game in finals postponed

Friday’s opening game in the 2A State Finals softball best-of-three series between the West Stanly Colts and the Eastern Randolph Wildcats was postponed.
Severe thunderstorms and hail pushed back the start of the 5 p.m. opening game in the 3A series between Central Cabarrus and Eastern Alamance back until the game was moved to Saturday. The storms continued including a brief power outage and late Friday night West’s game was rescheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.
Game Two in the series between the Colts and Wildcats is tentatively scheduled for 8 p.m. If necessary, a third and deciding game would be on Sunday.
