Pfeiffer softball moves to 21-3 with sweep

The Pfeiffer University softball team scored 30 combined runs in sweeping a road USA South doubleheader over Mary Baldwin University by scores of 11-3 and 19-5 on Sunday.
Pfeiffer (21-3, 4-2 USA South) home runsfrom Vada Blue Sherrill, Makenzie Pennell, Kari Westerbeek and Sarah Brown to down MBU (4-16, 1-5) in the first game of the doubleheader. Sherrill, Pennell and Westerbeek each finished with two RBI each while Brown, Alexis Walter, Maranda Benton and Hannah Tyner each had one.
Kiana Millsaps earned the pitching win, improving to 14-2 on the season. She allowed three hits, one run and struck out three in 4.0 innings of work.
In the second game, Sherrill, Tyner, Pennell and Brown hit another home run each in helping the Falcons to a 19-5 win.
Millsaps again got the win, pitching 2.2 innings allowing one run on two hits.
The Falcons will return home to take on Methodist on Wednesday in a USA South doubleheader at 2 p.m.
