South men to play for YVC tournament title after win in semis

The second-seeded South Stanly men’s basketball team reached the finals of the Yadkin Valley Conference tournament with a 61-50 win Wednesday over No. 6 Uwharrie Charter.
Jacorian Legrand led the Bulls (17-9) with 20 points, while Justin Gaddy added 18 off the bench.
Carson Brady was top scorer for the Eagles (7-17) with 19 .
The Bulls will take on the No. 1 seed in the YVC tournament, the North Rowan Cavaliers, on Friday night at 7:30 at South Davidson High School. In the other YVC semifinal matchup, the Cavs got past fourth-seed North Stanly, 46-45.
