Badin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched early Sunday morning to 85 Falls Road for a residential structure fire, according to a post of the department’s Facebook page.
Upon arrival, units found a two-story quadraplex with smoke and flames coming through the roof. A second alarm was called and personnel quickly extinguished the fire. Stanly County Emergency Management was called to investigate.
Mutual aid included Bethany Community Fire Department, East Side Volunteer Fire Department, New London Volunteer Fire Department, City of Albemarle Fire Department, Center Rural Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Southside VFD, Oakboro Fire & Rescue, Stanly County EMS, Stanly County Sheriff’s Office and Badin Police Department.
On Monday, Stanly County Fire Marshal Evan Faulkner said the fire has been ruled accidental, with an exact cause undetermined. No one was home at the time of the fire, he said.
